An established retailer who has had success in ladies formalwear is looking for an experienced garment technologist. As part of the technical department you will work alongside suppliers to ensure that garments are produced to the best quality. Your will be expected to be actively involved in the technical development of products.
You main responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring that all garments are measured accurately prior to fit meetings.
• Reviewing all seals to ensure they meet Jacques Vert standards regarding size, fit, and construction.
• Comparing samples with specifications.
• Fitting all garments throughout the sealing process in line with critical dates.
• Producing reports detailing comments, changes on size fit, construction and pattern adjustments. These would be documented into the system to ensure that all seal comments are recorded.
• Generating size charts and graded specifications for suppliers and communicate to Supplier in line with critical dates.
• Ensuring that packaging is fit for purpose.
• Commenting on standards of bulk yarns, fabric and components with the full knowledge Jacques Vert standards. Check that correct components and labels are being used relaying comments to product team
• Relaying any problems or actions to the Quality Control team and forwarding all relevant information including Black seals.
• Reviewing new technical developments in a bid to integrate them to the current practices.
• Developing consistent fit across department on all products.
You will need to have a strong technical background with a proven track record in developing technical standards and developing products.
